Fit and Proper Quiz: How Well Do You Know the FCA Test?
Sixteen questions on the FCA fit and proper test and the approval process for Senior Managers: the three criteria, the forms, regulatory references, criminal records checks and the 12-week rule. Reveal each answer as you go.
How This Quiz Works
There are 16 questions on the fit and proper test and Senior Manager approval. Most are multiple choice. Read each question, choose your answer, then select Show answer to see the correct answer, a short explanation and a link to the full guide. Keep a note of your score and check it against the guide at the end.
The questions reflect the FCA rules as we understand them, including the 2026 changes to the Senior Managers and Certification Regime. They are a learning aid, not an official FCA test, and nothing here is legal advice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this an official FCA test?
No. It is a learning aid, not an official assessment.
Where is the fit and proper test set out?
In the FCA Handbook’s FIT sourcebook, with related rules on Senior Manager approval in SUP 10C.
Can a candidate fail the fit and proper test for one issue?
It depends on the issue and how it was disclosed. The regulator looks at the whole picture, and non-disclosure is often more damaging than the original matter.
